WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET THERE?

The best way to travel to Anafi is to first fly to Santorini and then take the ferry from Santorini to Anafi. Please note that the trip might prove a bit challenging to organise as it requires to match a flight with a ferry departure. We recommend that you take advice from the designated travel agencies as soon as possible to get a better idea.

 

FLY NEAR ANAFI

Anafi has no airport. The closest airport is located in Santorini, the top Greek destination. The airport of Santorini receives flights from Athens and Thessaloniki and charter flights from abroad. It takes about 40 minutes to fly from Athens to Santorini. 

 

FERRIES TO ANAFI

There is a ferry from Santorini to Anafi a few times per week but not every single day. Anafi is also connected by ferry with the main port of Athens, Piraeus, two times a week. These ferries also connect Anafi to other islands of Cyclades. The ferry trip between Santorini and Anafi is approximately 1h40mins. 

 

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TRAVEL AND HOTEL:

Flight and ferry timetables won’t be available until Spring 2016 so we strongly recommend that you first book your accommodation on Anafi Island as soon as possible and secure a room from Wednesday 29rd of June  to Monday 4th July to be safe (especially if you want to attend the pre-wedding party) …otherwise you might have to free camp! ;)

 

Room bookings can be amended once travel has been booked as the hotels are aware of the late announcement of flight and ferry timetables and will show flexibility.

*On Anafi there is only one inhabited place, which is Chora. There is a road that leads from the picturesque harbour of Agios Nikolaos up to Chora, the only settlement on the island. Chora is the name used by the islanders for their capital, the other name they frequently use is Anafi.
